Hit the streets each year for our national annual appeal and shake a bucket! This is an important volunteer role as we do not receive any government funding. Donations collected help us continue to support families. Requirements: Min. 2 hours over appeal days, must be 16 years or older.

Available to support Child Cancer Foundation with various one off events held occasionally. Either in person or through online and digital support, you will be keen to give anything a go and promote the organisations purpose in order to raise funds. The organisation will provide physical resources. Requirements: This roles best suits fun loving, professional individuals and groups.

Coordinate groups of street appeal volunteers, ensuring they know what is happening and have the correct resources. Be the point of contact on appeal days. Requirements: 2-3 hours before appeal, available on appeal days to collect buckets, clean driver’s licence, pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Check.

A large number of business and organisations hold our collection boxes on their counters ready to receive public donations. You will pick boxes up once they are full and return them to our offices. Requirements: Time spent on this role is “as required”, reliable transport to get to businesses, a reference check and must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice criminal check.

You have a genuine interest in children and will spend weekends (usually over school holidays) supporting siblings of kids with cancer through fun activities that build resilience. Some travel to camps is required but all costs covered by Child Cancer. Requirements: Interview, reference checks, pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Check.

Volunteer roles include administration support, or specialised projects using skills such as marketing, IT, business development, education or health. These roles may be one off or ongoing support. Our National Support Office is based in Auckland and we have Family Places located in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Tell us about your skills and talents and how you would like to support us. If you would like to volunteer as a group please give us as much warning as possible.

With the majority of Connect Group volunteers being parents the Connect Groups are responsible for holding local social events for families across 19 locations nationally. Occasionally we need the help of volunteers who have a passion for organising events and have some great networks. Requirements: able to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Check.
