Funding for professional development training
Susan Francis, a Clinical Research Associate at Starship Blood and Cancer Centre, recently received a Health Professionals Grant to attend the ANZCHOG Annual Scientific Meeting in Perth.
“This was my first ANZCHOG conference which was well attended by a cross section of those involved in direct patient care to scientific research; from other countries such as the USA, Asia, Canada and Spain,” said Susan.
“It was a great opportunity for discussion, exchange or challenging knowledge of cancer, clinical trials and the management of children with cancer. There’s a definite need for continuing cancer research in children and more economic evaluations to inform policy.
“I would like to thank the Child Cancer Foundation for their financial support to attend this conference.”
Funding for professional development training
Meredith Woodhouse, a Clinical Research Associate at CHOC, recently attended an ANZCHOG meeting in Brisbane to support her professional development training. This trip was funded through the Health Professionals Grant programme.
"The meeting provided an excellent forum for learning about and updating my knowledge of paediatric cancers and haematological malignancies," says Meredith.
"It also gave me the opportunity to network and meet new colleagues from both New Zealand and Australia whilst also renewing previous relationships."
