Get Ready for Street Appeal 2026!
Many hands make our work possible. Will you lend yours to the cause next month?
It’s our biggest fundraising event of the year, and it’s back again this coming 13-14 March. First up, we’d like to say a ginormous thank you to all the returning volunteers, especially those who grab a bucket handle every single year. You are all a special sort of amazing, and we can’t thank you enough for all the support you show tamariki with cancer, and all those who love them.
With four children a week being diagnosed, and the number of families under our Family Support Coordinators’ care are up more than 20% compared to this time last year, more support is urgently needed. And because we don’t receive any government funding, we rely on the kindness and effort of generous Kiwis to keep our services funded and available to all Kiwi kids and their families affected by childhood cancer. No child, nor their family, should have to walk that journey alone. We’re dedicated to making sure that none of them ever do. Our one-to-one, wrap-around services and support are available to them all, and it’s people like you who make that possible.
Our Street Appeal is a chance for the community to come together and raise vital funds for all those deserving children and families. To get out there, face-to-face with Aotearoa, and not only gather donations, but spread the word about how those donations make a real, tangible difference. How even a few dollars, enough for one coffee, can become a coffee in the hands of a parent who is giving everything to care for their child throughout treatment. A coffee handed to them by their Family Support Coordinator, who is there with an understanding ear and a wealth of knowledge. Just a few dollars doesn’t seem like much, but what can be done with just a few dollars can be exactly what a family needs to get through another day, and with more hope than they had just moments ago.

If you can spare 2 hours or more, on Friday 13 or Saturday 14, or both, please click the link below to claim a collection shift near you.
You can also rally the troops, get everyone involved! Grab a few friends, the whole family, get the entire workplace involved! Especially if you’re offered time off to do volunteer work, this is a great opportunity to take advantage of that, get out in the local community and do some good. The option is also there to adopt a site for the day, or both days, to make it your very own and gather donations for some of the most deserving families in Aotearoa.
