Introducing Super SIBS Sessions!
A cancer diagnosis affects the whole whānau. Our new Super SIBS Sessions give siblings their own space to be seen, heard and supported.
Something special just for siblings is on the way! 📢🌟
Did you know? We don’t just support children with cancer, we wrap care around the whole whānau, including the siblings. 👨🏽👩🏻👧🏻👦🏽❤️
When a child goes through cancer treatment, lots has to change! A family might need to be split apart while the sick child stays in hospital. Parents’ attention needs to shift. Plans go on hold and everything turns upside down. Sometimes, it’s scary.
Through it all, siblings can go through a lot of big feelings, too.
So, we’ve developed a new 5-day programme, designed and led by a play specialist online, just for them. 🥰
For an hour a day, siblings come together online, do some crafts and connect with others who understand what it’s like.
Before they begin, they get mailed a package that’s full of all the fun supplies they’ll need, too!
The sessions are designed to help them feel seen, special and like the super siblings they are. They can ask a nurse all those tricky or quirky questions about cancer. And to top it off, they finish with wellbeing activities and skills for the journey ahead.
It’s all thanks to those who support us. When you give, you help programmes like these come to life! To those who donate, thank you for being there for families facing childhood cancer, including all the super siblings 💙
