New Zealand Couriers

Child Cancer Foundation has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with New Zealand Couriers for over 20 years. They very generously provide free mail collection, reduced and free courier rates throughout the year, regular donations and support with our Christmas hampers.

The NZ Couriers team is always incredibly enthusiastic about our national fundraising campaigns, so we asked a few of them to share what the partnership means to them!

Shastine Strickland – Courier Recruitment

What does the partnership between NZ Couriers and Child Cancer Foundation mean to you?

For the team at NZ Couriers, it is a chance to make a real difference to families within our community that are going through truly tough times. It is a privilege to be able to contribute as a business and personally.

Sadly, we have had members of our team who have had children battle with cancer. Seeing the support that Child Cancer Foundation has given their families (as well as the children themselves) has been incredible.

What is your favourite memory of supporting Child Cancer Foundation?

Every year, our team dresses up on the Friday of the Annual Street Appeal and work together to raise money for Child Cancer Foundation. Also, Wig Wednesday sees crazy stuff happening in our offices – somehow, all of these efforts involve food, lots of smiles and genuine kindness from our people. Thanks Child Cancer Foundation!

Karen Beacham – National Payroll Manager

What does the partnership mean to you?

Seeing the support that our business and staff give them and hearing of some of the great feedback.

What is your favourite memory of supporting Child Cancer Foundation?

Being involved in the fundraising events held within our business and all getting behind it – from the team up north in Whangarei to our southernmost branch in Invercargill.

Robert Levy – National Marketing Manager

What does the partnership mean to you?

I have always been touched and impressed by the generosity of our people and the level of involvement from everyone. For me, it means a genuine opportunity for us to make a difference in our communities all around the country. Everything from the hampers we give to families at Christmas to moving everything around New Zealand during the Annual Appeal is special.

What is your favourite memory of supporting Child Cancer Foundation?

Back in 2008, our team went into Child Cancer Foundation’s National Support Office and spent an afternoon building a giant crawl-in doll house and a wooden parking garage. Whenever we go back to visit the crew at Child Cancer Foundation, we always see kids making good use of those gifts. We have done a heap since then, but I always smile when I see kids enjoying the gear we put together back in 2008.

Rohan Jessiman – Auckland Regional Manager

What does the partnership mean to you?

For as long as I can remember, NZ Couriers has held a strong association with Child Cancer Foundation; from the bumper stickers we’ve had on our staff and couriers’ vehicles each year, through to Wig Wednesday, where so many of our teams join in for the fun.

What is your favourite memory of supporting Child Cancer Foundation?

While the cause is so serious, our teams always see Wig Wednesday as an opportunity to let their hair down and have a great time. When I joined the Auckland Branch Team in 2018 I saw just how much everyone enjoyed the day – not just amazing wigs and outfits, but some fantastic shared lunches too.

We are all very proud to support Child Cancer Foundation, and truly appreciate what you do.
