The New Zealand Firefighters Sports Association (NZFSA) is proud to be an ongoing supporter of Child Cancer Foundation, having enjoyed a close relationship for nearly thirty years. A huge part of this relationship is the awesome New Zealand Firefighters Calendar, which the NZFSA produces each year.
For the last few years, each calendar has featured children who are undergoing treatment for cancer or have finished treatment, together with a member of the New Zealand Firefighters Sports Association). For every calendar sold, the NZFSA donates $2 to Child Cancer Foundation.
The decision in 1990 to donate a portion of the funds from the calendar to Child Cancer Foundation was made as a consequence of events that touched the core of the NZFSA. Over the years, our partnership developed through a very close association between firefighters, their families and Child Cancer Foundation.
“We are very proud that this relationship has grown over the years, and we are continuing to look at ways of further strengthening this bond, and modernising our fundraising methods too,” says the NZFSA. “The relationship we now have with the Child Cancer Foundation is both well established and extremely rewarding.”
The NZFSA has raised more than $1 million for Child Cancer Foundation over the years, which has made a massive difference to tamariki with cancer and the people who love them. Thank you, NZFSA, for your ongoing generosity!
